From Stellenbosch in the Cape, popular Afrikaans Author (of over 20 books) Koos decided that the stilted life of the author was not for him. He became a musical ‘boomelaar’ & hit the road, often appearing in concert with friends Warwick Sony & the late James Phillips. He is well known in the Flemish countries & opened, in Afrikaans to a standing ovation, for Suzanne Vega at a Festival in Belgium. Here’s a song about a friend of his caught up in the JHB/Yeoville drug scene. Johnny isn’t dead - he has just passed out. |
