3. URBAN CREEP, NOAH ( 642)
Chris Letcher, (Shifty Music),Desk Mix, DM, Marquee, 1994, DAT.
Chris Letchers finger-picking acoustic & electric guitar style, unique vocals & song writing abilities combined with the classical & maskanda strains of Brendan Jurys violin, keyboards & rock vocals, made the Creeps the urban legend & sensation they were. Short lived as the band may have been, Splashy Fen no doubt added to their remarkable rise to national & international notice. In Noah Chris handles the main vocals & the guitar work. Brendan plays keyboards with Harmonies, Simon Pontin on Bass & Ian Jeffries was the drummer.
(Producers note: One of the main public broadcasters music radio producers refused 3rd Ear Music access to the master DAT recordings from 1995. However, thanks to modern technology one track off a damaged backup cassette recording was salvaged. Not quite digital & stereo, but this mono version still catches an unforgettable performance). |
