Disclaimer
Attendees assume all risk and danger incidental to attendance of this event (in any capacity) and release the owners of Splashy Fen Farm and C-Weed Entertainment Promotions and their close corporations, employees, suppliers, sponsors or representatives from any and all liabilities, damages, costs and expenses arising from any cause whatsoever. This includes but is not limited to any damage, theft or loss of property or earnings, as well as any death or injury or damage to any person within the premises of Splashy Fen Farm before, during or after the festival. The organisers can also not be held responsible for poor weather, water or power interruptions, the failure of artists to perform, or any other unforeseen circumstances that may occur. Right of admission is reserved.
Terms and Conditions
Age restriction: No persons under the age of 18 will be allowed into Splashy Fen unless they’re under parental supervision. An over-18 age restriction will apply to persons entering any area where alcohol is served. Anyone found supplying alcohol to a minor will be asked to leave the festival.
Children: Young children must be supervised at all times and should not be left to wander around by themselves, especially near the river.
Filming, recording and photography: Standard still cameras are permitted but no tape recorders, video cameras or professional photography equipment will be allowed in the festival without official accreditation. Festival-goers consent to filming, photographing and sound recording as members of the audience.
Fires: Please don’t throw cigarette butts in the grass, set off fireworks or sky lanterns, or leave campfires unattended, as there is a real danger of runaway fire. Big bonfires are also a bad idea, as they can get out of hand really quickly! If you see any unattended fires, please put them out or call the 24-hour emergency number listed in your programme.
Hiking: Feel free to walk around the farm, but please respect the No Entry signs leading to private areas. Do not cross the game fences or damage them in any way – they are there for security purposes and to keep trespassers out. And please don’t wander onto other properties, as the owners might not welcome the intrusion into their homes.
No car boot music, vuvuzelas, fireworks or sirens: Splashy Fen is an opportunity to enjoy LIVE music, so please switch off all car or portable sound systems. Be courteous and considerate to other festival-goers and don’t forget the 2am noise curfew!
No glass: While glass may be more ‘green’ than plastic, broken bottles and the like are not only an immediate danger to festival-goers but also a hazard to the livestock whose grazing pastures are being borrowed for the long-weekend. Be warned, bottles will be confiscated!
Pets: The festival is not pet or animal-friendly and we will unfortunately have to enforce our ‘No Pets’ policy.
Refuse collection and bins: Please make use of the refuse bags given to you at the gate and place full bags on the side of the road for collection in the mornings. Replacements are available at the Info Centre. There are also bins dotted around the festival site for your convenience.
Road safety: Please don’t ride motorcycles or quad bikes in the festival site. Not only is it potentially dangerous but the noise may be offensive to other festival-goers or interfere with the music. When entering or leaving Splashy Fen, please keep your speed down and watch out for campers, guy ropes and pedestrians.
Snakes: The ground is uneven in places, so please take care when walking. Also keep a lookout for snakes and check carefully before you sit on or near rocks.
Swimming: Feel free to swim in the river, but please do not use soap or shampoo or pollute the water in any way. The river is also shallow in places, so diving is not advisable.
Take care of your property: While every effort is made to safeguard festival-goers and their property, it’s advisable to lock valuables in your vehicle when you’re away from your campsite. This includes gas bottles, sleeping bags, clothes, cameras etc. Any incidents of theft should immediately be reported to security.
Zero tolerance: No firearms, weapons, illegal substances, violent, offensive or dangerous behaviour will be tolerated at Splashy Fen and offenders will be dealt with by the necessary authorities. Bags, car boots and other items may be subject to a full search upon entry and throughout the event to ensure the safety of festival-goers.
