| Splashy Fen the only place to be this Easter! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
“This is definitely one of our most exciting line-ups to date and is proof yet again that Splashy Fen is at the forefront when it comes to providing a platform for talented up-and-coming bands and solo performers,” says festival manager, Pedro Carlo. “Never before have we had such a great mix of new and established artists representing such a wide spectrum of different music genres. Whatever your preference in music, Splashy’s got it covered!” Included in the four-day programme of over 80 artists are the likes of Tree63, Goldfish, The Rudimentals, Miriam Backhouse, Dan Patlansky, Plush, Gonzo Republic, Redflecks (USA), Kidofdoom, Southern Gypsey Queen, Syd Kitchen, Josie Field, Avatar, Crossingpoint, New Loud Rockets, Napalma, The Arrows and many more. Just as this year’s line-up is better than ever, so are the choices of where to lay your head under the Southern Berg stars at the end of each day. While the general camping areas (which are included in the ticket price) will no doubt continue to be the first choice for most festival-goers, many Splashy ‘veterans’ with spouses and children in tow are sure to find the centrally-located, cordoned-off family campsite an option well worth considering. Camping in this area carries a R100 per vehicle surcharge but remember that festival entry for children under 12 is free. And then there’s the Kreef Tent Hotel, which offers a hassle-free, affordable camping alternative for anyone mistakenly put off at the thought of ‘roughing it’. After all, what could be easier than checking in to a pre-pitched and spacious tent, complete with mattresses and linen, and waking up to a full buffet breakfast every morning? Visit www.kreefhotel.co.za for bookings and more information, and remember space is limited! Other draw cards include a host of fun outdoor activities for the whole family from swimming and tubing in the river or dams, to hiking, paintball or visits to nearby tourist attractions, as well as a full children’s entertainment programme and child-minding service. Festival-goers can also look forward to a bigger and more colourful choice of authentic arts and crafts, as well as a wide selection of food outlets offering everything from Chinese stir-fries to pastas, pizzas, vegetarian dishes, potjiekos, seafood, Indian cuisine and some of the country’s biggest names in fast food. On-site ATM facilities will also be available around the clock. Each year, thousands of people of all ages journey from across South Africa and even from abroad to enjoy the unique experience that is Splashy Fen make sure you’re a part of it this Easter! Tickets are available at selected Game stores (R300), Computicket (R350) and at the festival gate (R400). The price includes camping for the entire long weekend. |
