Having spent the past year writing and recording, Durban three-piece rock outfit Habit To is set to ‘unleash’ their brand new album at this year’s Splashy Fen Music Festival taking place in Underberg over the Easter long weekend, April 21 to 25.
According to lead vocalist and guitarist Michelle Stent, the band’s latest offering Boomerang Saturn delivers songs that will “take you on a journey through change and into triumph, with a feel good, never waste the good times type attitude”.
Stent’s vocals and ripping guitar solos are powered by Dale Wardell on drums and samples, and Andy Stent on bass and vocals.
Formed in 2000, Habit To has built up a strong following not only in Durban but around the country, winning over new fans with every gig. The band has also performed at most major festivals and shared stages with the likes of Prime Circle, The Parlotones and Goldfish.
The imminent release of Boomerang Saturn follows on the success of Habit To’s previous album Secrets to a Triangle, which saw the single ‘Cast in Stone’ receiving extensive radio airplay, while the music video for ‘Gratitude’ was put into rotation on Go TV and MK.
“You can expect even more from the video for our new single ‘R10.40’, which will be hitting your TV screens very soon,” says Stent. “It’s a habit. It’s addictive. It’s living it up for rock `n roll!”
Right now though, the band is looking forward to joining a great line-up of top artists at Splashy Fen, where the four-day programme includes the likes of Boo!, Vusi Mahlasela, Karen Zoid, Ard Matthews, The Rudimentals, Holiday Murray, City Bowl Mizers, Goodluck, Wrestlerish, John Ellis and Dan Patlansky. |
