The farm on which the annual Splashy Fen Music Festival takes place is exactly one mile above sea level. This year, why not go to even greater heights and take to the skies for a bird’s eye view of the festival and stunning Drakensberg scenery?

Weather permitting, microlight and gyrocopter flights with qualified pilots will be on offer over the Easter weekend – leaving from the nearby Himeville Airfield and following a route directly over Splashy Fen.

Other news is that the Durban Paragliding Club has issued a challenge to interested paragliding pilots to attempt to make the 45km flight from Bulwer to Splashy Fen.

Last year, Josh Degenaar made history by becoming the first paraglider in more than 20 years to successfully reach the festival! The race is ON this year and there are great prizes up for grabs.
